Young Roach

Very few musicians have hit the independent rap and hip-hop scene as hard as Young Roach has done. Even more impressive is the speed at which he has accomplished this feat. In an extremely short period of time, Young Roach has made a name for himself and his music. He is one of today’s premier rappers and entertainers! Jordan “Young Roach” York was born in Miami, FL and now calls Pittsburgh, PA home. He is what is happening in the independent rap and hip-hop scene. In the winter of 2010, Young Roach decided to start chasing his dream and began to aggressively pursue a career in hip-hop music. In less than one year he built an enormous fan base with the help Twitter, Facebook, and Reverb Nation. Young Roach began by rapping at house parties with friends. He immediately realized that he might be onto something. He then started posting youtube videos and…BOOM…things blew up overnight. He rapidly progressed to performing locally, in the city of Pittsburgh, killing performances at every major nightclub, again and again. He soon branched outside of Pittsburgh into other east coast regions. He has been on a whirlwind doing event after event. His singles are being spun in nightclubs across the city of Pittsburgh as well as at college radio stations in Western Pennsylvania and cities across the country. His music has made its way from local radio to national radio to international radio to satellite radio. And if he wasn’t busy enough, he has also been doing radio and magazine interviews across the nation. Much of Young Roach’s success is due to the huge internet buzz he has developed. Young Roach appreciates all of his fans and spends countless hours keeping in constant contact with them via Twitter and Facebook. In addition to showing love to his fans, Young Roach also makes time to give back to his community. He enjoys performing at various charitable concerts as well as volunteering his time at miscellaneous charitable events. Young Roach admires anyone who has the drive to really chase their dreams. He understands chasing those dreams is not easy but you can’t say you tried if you really didn’t even give it a shot. Much of that philosophy comes from Young Roach’s view of Wiz Khalifa…going from rocking shows in Pittsburgh and pushing his mixtape to one of today’s biggest hip-hop stars. Whether Young Roach performs in front of small crowds or large stadiums, he is electrified once he hits the stage. Young Roach’s high energy and charisma on stage as well as his unique sound and clean-cut image has helped him stand out from the crowd. He has evolved from a joke cracking rapper to a polished artist and entertainer who is driven to succeed in the industry.
